Join us for a supper of Middle East cuisine featuring a presentation by Boston-based Palestinian-American Dr. Nadia Abuelezam, founder and producer of Palestinians Podcast.

Palestinians Podcast gives a voice to Palestinians and humanizes themes common within the Palestinian narrative – isolation, resistance, and separation from home – through the sharing of personal stories.

Nadia will discuss the process of confronting her own personal labels, feelings, and perceptions throughout podcast creation. She’ll discuss the unifying nature of storytelling and simultaneously the resilience of the Palestinian people.

Featured Speaker

Nadia N. Abuelezam, ScD, is an epidemiologist and assistant professor at the Boston College Connell School of Nursing. Her research focuses on using quantitative methods and novel data streams to better understand the inequalities in healthcare distribution and access among vulnerable populations.

Nadia is also really passionate about storytelling and runs a podcast, Palestinians Podcast, that curates stories from Palestinians in the diaspora. She’s a proud graduate of Harvey Mudd College (Mathematical Biology ’09), a Greek Orthodox Christian, and a (aspiring) CrossFit junkie.

Born and raised in San Francisco and now living in Boston, Nadia values storytelling and its impact in building community and creating unity within the Palestinian diaspora. She has performed stories on stages across the United States including on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington D.C.
